About Me

Ghana
I decided to create this blog to keep you guys in the loop about my time spent in Ghana. I will be in this West African country from the end of January until mid March for one of my final nursing practicums. I am really looking forward to the challenges and obstacles I will encounter, the people I will cross paths with, and the valuable lessons I will learn.

Made it to Africa!

So after almost 30 hours of traveling, we have made it to Accra, Ghana! Right now I am sitting at an internet booth in a brand new mall in the higher-end part of town. I can't believe we are in Africa! So exciting and a tad overwhelming. The airport experience was definitely an interesting one. People trying to grab our bags and carry them for us so we would pay them. Kind of pushy! The hostel only sent one van to pick us up so we ended up managing to cram all of our bags (2 big bags and 1-2 smaller bags each!) plus TWELVE of us in one van! It was unreal. Haha, praise the Lord for A/C!

Today we bought a phone and exchanged our money for the local currency, cedis. My internet time is running out so I need to finish this quick! Hope you all are well! I love and miss you all!
